Dr. Avani Hegde has done MD Pediatrics from Advanced Pediatric Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, the apex referral center for Pediatrics in India. She received the institutional bronze medal for her exemplary academic performance and research interest.

Pursuing her keen interest in Pediatric and adolescent endocrine disorders, she went on to do her sub-specialty training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, which is one of the largest Pediatric referral centers in Karnataka. Her entire medical training has involved exposure to a wide spectrum of Pediatric and adolescent hormonal problems. She is amongst the faculty at the Indian Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ISPAE) diabetes education and learning (IDEAL) module being conducted to encourage and train diabetes educators.

She was previously associated with St. John’s Medical College as a faculty. She is an active member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and the Indian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology. She has several national and international publications to her merit.
